I amused myself at work by using Fed Ex's incredibly cool web site to track my package as it crossed the country. By night, Jon Hofferman confirmed that the tapes were in the hands of the Sundance people. I feel pretty happy. I don't know how much Sundance itself really means to my future or my film's, but the fact that we had been in such a great position to make the original deadline and had missed it anyway had been eating at me. For a person like me, who has had a hard time over the years pushing myself to get anything done, ambition becomes important for its own sake: I need to meet every challenge just to prove to myself that I'm ready to meet challenges, regardless of what I'm actually accomplishing.
