The Birds!


We visited Bodega Bay, where Alfred Hitchcock filmed parts of 'The Birds'

We had to drive through a lot of vineyards to get from 101 to Bodega Bay on the coast of Sonoma County. Bodega Bay is where Hitchcock filmed part of his 1963 film "The Birds." The local tourist office does know why we're here and had information ready. The only structure left from the filming is the old schoolhouse, which Hitchcock saved from demolition, and is now an art gallery.

The seaside restaurant that was featured in the movie burned down, but Eric and I had lunch at the new one. The food was so-so. The view was pretty, though. And, a flyer announced that Birds star Tippi Hedren was visiting in September.
