Harlem River Non-Drive

Stuck en route to a turkey dinner

To save some time, I drove past the Throgs Neck and Whitestone Bridges in favor of the Triboro Bridge. Well, it still took me two hours to get to the George Washington Bridge. Mom and I spent a lot of time stuck in traffic alongside the Harlem River, on the Bronx side.

Being a genius, I managed to get myself onto the New Jersey Turnpike going south instead of west on I-80. For a while, 80 and 95 are the same road. I missed a fork in the road and was suddenly quite literally at the Meadowlands.

Here's a tip... if this happens to you, take the exit for the Vince Lombardi rest stop, because if you don't, you will go miles out of your way and pay two tolls to go back.
