For the March 2002 release of the 2-CD compilation Land (1975-2002), Arista issued ARPCD-5088, a two-track promo CD intended for consumer distribution with the purchase of Land at select independent retailers. Like Gung Ho Giveaway in 2000, another with-purchase premium, this CD has tracks unavailable elsewhere. In this case, two alternate versions of the new studio track Higher Learning. There is an 11-minutes-plus studio version of the song, different from what was issued on Land, and a live version recorded in Europe in 2001, which incorporates poetry by William Blake.
