It’s now been three days since the return of the car. On day the third, I installed the driver’s side door fittings, the mirrors, eased the windshield in to place (it’s close, but not on), installed the heater, installed the clearance lights (though the front lights have no actual light capacity) and installed the badge on the boot.

For the most part, it was just slow careful work. The heater core was special. To get that bastard installed, I called for the help of a friend. We then were able to get it slid down into it’s spot by removing the bonnet and setting it aside. We then fought with it for almost an hour. In desperation, I climbed up on the engine and put all my weight into the effort while Trevor gave it some lateral inspiration. That’s right, installing the heater required me to stand on the engine. But hey, it’s in.
