Comments:
RUN FROM THEM SCREAMING! I started out at this agency working for JPMorgan. My job was to empty out a cellar of 5,000 boxes and build a database for banking information. I was autonomous and did a fabulous job. The client raved about me. The second job I received a month later working as a Graphic Designer at 25/h for Pfizer. The job was wonderful, I did a great job. The client raved about my performance. Then I went to Europe and came back and took the only job they had, as a receptionist in the pain management division of a hospital. The job was awful. Several admins had already been in and out of the spot. I was badgered daily by one of the nurses there. She called me all kinds of names and was continually harrassing me. When I phoned my counselor, Brad, he said that they liked me and that he'd investigate. He told me that I had a personality problem. I don't know how this was possible since I just went in and did my work. The women in the office complained about me constantly, but said I had a good work ethic. I spoke to their director, Liza, who said she'd take care of it. But Jane was allowed to call me faggot and ride my back as I crawled along the floors filing medical records. Finally I called my counselor and said I couldn't take it any more and I'd stay as long as I could last. He said that if I left now Adecco would sever all ties with me. I quit that day. Brad called me at home and told me that I was fired. I called the REgional manager, Robin Amster. She told me that she would take care of it and not to worry, that it wouldn't go on to my record...famous last words. I went on with my life, had many rewarding jobs. I come back to this region (my last job moved me to philly!) and call Adecco and they say that there is a DNU which most temps know means, "Do NOT USE" on my file. I made many phonecalls to the Long Island Employee Relations, and several counselors to finally get it removed from my file, and they are supposed to be conducting a sexual harrassment report on the case (FEDERAL LAW), but I had many a yelling match with Robin Amster and Cathy Concalvez. So my advice to anybody in graphics or anywhere out there, stay the heck away from them, because they do not have your back and if you suffer sexual harrassment, they will DNU your file as well. I'd hate for anyone to go through what I've been through. To date, they still have not completed this supposed "investigation" which they said they were going to. New York and New Jersey Adecco, very bad. Go somewhere like United Staffing instead where they truly do appreciate you!
