Sean in Bozen
17 June 2006
I did a lot of shopping yesterday. Butter, quark, mustard, mayonaisse, strawberries, a bell pepper, two kinds of bread, teabags, bottled tea, Fanta, pineapple juice, green olives, two bottles of wine, a can of beer, a corkscrew, fork-knife-spoon, a plate, napkins, more clothes hangers. I found a really good store today called Upmi where I'll buy whatever I can't get at the flea market.
I had a nice long talk yesterday with the guy who lives next door to me. His name is Luca. He's studying computer science. He's originally from France near Strassburg, but his dad lives in South Carolina running a wine import business, and Luca was in school in South Carolina before coming here to Bozen for six months. He'll be here until the end of June. We have a lot of academic interests in common.
The World Cup is going on now, and everybody is paying attention to it and talking about it. I watched part of one game last night where somebody was getting badly injured every five minutes or so. Then they'd have to play the injury in slow motion from three different angles.
