Nataliya is 26 years old. She was born in L'viv and grew up in Vynnyky, a small historical town approximately five miles (eight kilometres) east of L'viv, in [the] Ukraine. (Click map on right.) She came to the United States when she was 17 and currently she works as an accountant for American International Group (AIG) in downtown Manhattan.

Seth is 35 years old. He was born in Manhattan and grew up in Leonia, NJ. Currently, he's an Assistant Vice President at Merrill Lynch in Jersey City, NJ.

We originally met on-line through an on-line chat, believe it or not! (Not the most romantic way to meet someone...) Our first meeting was in Washington Square Park in the West Village back in 1999. After a couple of dates, we kept in touch but no romance developed. We got our second chance on August 17th, 2001 when we met up once again. This time, things were different and a romance soon followed.

Just as our relationship was starting to develop, we had to endure the terrible events of September 11th, 2001. While Nataliya had to fight the crowds and the white ash raining down, Seth watched helplessly from his office in the West Village. We were unable to speak to each other for hours, since our offices were forced to evacuate and cell phone service had been knocked out. Luckily, we both made it home after hours of waiting and hoping for the best.

Despite having witnessed the worst terrorist event in U.S. history, we went away together for the first time to Seattle, WA in late September, 2001. We continued to travel together in 2002 to New England, San Francisco (California), Lewes (Delaware) and Las Vegas (Nevada). By the end of 2002, Nataliya and Seth had moved in together. In the spring of 2003, Seth proposed marriage and Nataliya accepted.
