August 4, 2006 - Julia Anna Meyer was born today at 8:49 AM at Holy Name Hospital. This was a scheduled C-section and was two weeks shy of her actual expected birth date. Although early, she was actually heavier than David, weighing 7 pounds, 6 1/2 ounces (3.365kg) and was 19 3/4 inches (50.165cm) tall. With Julia's birth, we're now a part of the "two under 2" club, as David is not even 17 months old yet! March 10, 2005 - David Meyer was born today at 9:58 PM in Holy Name Hospital (Teaneck, NJ). He was about two weeks overdue but came out healthy and screaming, weighing 6 pounds, 12.8 ounces (3.084 kg) and 21 inches (53.34 cm) long! This was just 2 1/2 days shy of our 1.5 year anniversary! September 13, 2004 - Suddenly it's one year! We've done a lot this year but it still seems that it went fast! We've been to Europe, Nataliya's first trip outside of the U.S. for nine years, and we're expecting a baby in February! Yesterday, Nataliya and I went to Point Pleasant down on the Jersey shore and in one of those game booths, she bet 1 and 3 - our "lucky" wedding number - and she won an electric scooter! Seth gave Nataliya a framed Papal blessing, straight from the Vatican. It's in Ukrainian, and Seth's name was roughtly translated to "Set". Nataliya gave Seth a very nice card with three coupons for a free Sunday (when the baby is around) as well as a reservation for a dinner on Bateaux Boat Cruise. Since we had our reception on a boat, this is a great way to celebrate our joining! December 13, 2003 - It's our "three-month" anniversary! Remember when we said that being married on the 13th was a good thing? Well, this "13" was a good day as well: Saddam Hussain has been captured! November 18, 2003 - Looks like George and Laura finally got around to congratulating us! And after all the good advice we gave (and he never took), you'd think he'd at least RSVP! Well, better late than never! October 6, 2003 - You can now review the menu we used for the reception, and we've started to make photos of the wedding and reception available online through our pictures section. October 3, 2003 - Added the links page which includes some of the companies involved with the wedding reception. Also, the party favors, a collection of our favorite love songs, was distributed to all who attended the reception. We've made a special lyrics page so you can sing along with the song of your choice on the CD. You can read where we got the idea for this party favor and, if you like what you hear, links have also been provided for you to purchase the CDs for which each song came from! September 29, 2003 - Well, now it's official! We received our marriage certificate in the mail today! September 14, 2003 - Despite some difficulty (miscommunication) of getting our cake, everything and everyone was on time for the reception. (The bakery didn't understand that they had made a cake for us and denied having it. Luckily the cake was found, and as we hoped and found out later, very tasty!) The rain threatened to come down during the early afternoon, but it cleared up for our cruise! The event was very enjoyable and everyone had a good time! Hundreds of photos were taken and it'll take a little time to figure out which ones to post on the web site. September 13, 2003 - We're married! We're now Seth and Nataliya Meyer!!! After the wedding, we invited everyone over for a barbeque. Despite the rain, we had a great time! We hear that rain on your wedding day is supposed to be a sign of good luck... or a sign that you'll have many children. September 9, 2003 - Submitted final menu and guest list for Sunday's Reception party on Cloud 9. August 31, 2003 - Ordered the 'wedding' cake for our reception! Also we got our hair cut for the big day! August 27, 2003 - Finalized the menu! A few last minute adjustments were made to the selections but we're happy with the changes. August 4, 2003 - Since there were no speakers on the top of the Cloud Nine yacht, we decided to hire a d.j. to do the music for the reception. We'll still need to discuss music with him, but it'll be one less thing to worry about while we're relaxing on the boat. July 26, 2003 - Went to Meet with the chef for a tasting. Unfortunately, while we went to meet him at the World's Fair Marina, the boat he was on (the larger, Cloud Nine IV) was at the Skyport Marina in Manhattan. The other boat, the one where we will have our reception, was docked there and we boarded it. Chef Carl was working that boat this day and he prepared some food-items for us to try. We also met Kathleen from the Charter company who has helped us a lot over the phone in the past few weeks. July 25, 2003 - As of 13:23:33, we have our marriage license! It's valid after 13:23:33 on 07/26/2003 until 09/23/2003. (Yes, the license actually has the seconds printed on it...) Nataliya will also be changing her last name to 'Meyer'. Also, we picked up our wedding bands. We're both very happy with them! July 24, 2003 - Added new FAQ page to the wedding web site. July 23, 2003 - Our web site Guestbook page officially went on-line. July 19, 2003 - "or so"... Called up to see if our rings were ready. They're not... Apparently the laborers are still mining for the diamonds. Jeweler promised he'd have them by late next week. July 12, 2003 - We went to St. George church to finalize our wedding with Father Philip. After some simple questions, we both were penned in Father Philip's marriage book. We then went back to the Jewelery Exchange on 47th St. in Manhattan! We finally found rings that we both agreed on and we put down a deposit on them! Hopefully in another week (or so), we'll have our rings! July 8, 2003 - Went to look for wedding bands at the jewelery exchange in Manhattan. We brought a list of rings that we might be interested in and decided that there were other rings more to our liking. We left with a few business cards but no rings. We'll have to return on the weekend. July 7, 2003 - People have already receiving the invitations! Received a lot of positive feedback, too. We were, however, a little disappointed that the return address said "South Eastern PA" instead of where we actually mailed them from: "Intercourse, PA". July 4, 2003 - Invitations have been sent out! There's no turning back now! June 30, 2003 - All remaining invitations and envelopes printed. June 26, 2003 - First invitations printed. June 25, 2003 - Revised design created for invitations. July 24, 2003 - Improved invitations developed (click here) with help from friend, Jen. However, after all the work she and we put into these colorful cards, we scrap them for a wedding kit we find at Staples. Depite this, many of the text ideas we came up with make it into the new cards. June 22, 2003 - Went to Flushing in Queens to visit the Tai Pan Bakery to decide on a wedding cake. While a rough idea was formed on what cake we'll get, we'll need to revisit this later. June 21, 2003 - Nataliya and friend, Jen, went shopping for a wedding dress. By the end of the day, Nataliya had her dress and shoes. June 20, 2003 - Started looking into card designs. Initial design idea (click here) is shot down by Nataliya. June 19, 2003 - Seth looked around for possible wedding dresses for Nataliya. On the top of his list was this dress which was shot down by Nataliya. June 18, 2003 - Completed pre-cana classes and we received our certificate! June 17, 2003 - Nataliya went to Father Philip and booked the Wedding ceremony for September 13th. June 15, 2003 - Went to check out the Cloud Nine ship in Flushing, Queens. We both loved the ship and agreed to reserve the boat for September 14th, about three months in advance. June 11, 2003 - Completed the second pre-cana class. June 4, 2003 - Finished first of three pre-cana classes. Very rainy walk back to public transportation. |
