Campers' Group Bulletin - Winter 1997-1998
Campers' Group Bulletin - Winter 1997-1998
We were treated to an early snowstorm in mid-November. A few of us
cancelled our plans and drove upstate to cross-country ski. That snow
has melted, but more is on the way. If you've never skied before, you'll
find it's like hiking but requires less effort once you get the hang of it.
You can take off your coat because our January 24th party is in a heated
apartment. See your friends from the 1996 camping trips in person and in
photos.
To reserve a space on a weekend trip or day event, call the leaders
between Sunday and Wednesday of the previous week, before 10 PM. If you
need information earlier than that, call David Levner at 718-897-1448.
To go on a camping or cabin trip, you must be a member. You can mail us
your dues or pay at the site. One year's membership costs $12 for an
individual or $18 for a family ($8 or $12 if you receive the newsletter
by e-mail). Make out your check to Campers' Group and send it to David
Levner, 63-36 98th Place, Apt. 5J, Rego Park, NY 11374.

Saturday January 31, Outdoor Ice-Skating, Upstate NY
Do you skate? We're going upstate, but the choice of a rink depends on
the weather. One place that we have in mind is in Larchmont and Mamaroneck.
Actually, we think it's on the border. There's a line drawn in the middle
of the rink and a sign that says, "Now entering Mamaroneck." Don't believe
me? Join us and find out. NO CALLS BEFORE JANUARY 25.
