The On-Demand Base Packages include:

• Full-time (24 hours x 7 days a week) multi-user access at speeds from 28.8Kbps (modem) to 128Kbps (2-channel ISDN).
• Your entire network connects to the Internet through a single standard or ISDN phone line.
• Firewall, NAT, and Routing. Any number of machines can be connected to the Internet over a single IP address, behind a security-enhancing NAT firewall configured on your router.
  In the rare event that NAT will not meet your company's needs, Panix will allocate a range of up to 16 IP addresses for your network at no cost. Of those 16, one is used by your router, and first and last addresses in any IP range are always special addresses not usable by machines, so you can use up to 13. Additional IP addresses are also available.
• Primary Nameservice - Panix will provide primary domain name service (DNS) for your domain at no extra charge.
• Complimentary single user maintenance account with PPP and shell access to Panix, for administrative use.

Prices listed are for the complete package, regardless of whether you opt to use all features included. Services and resources cannot be shared among accounts unless otherwise stated.

Pre-configured Hardware:

In order to use a network connection to the Internet you need a router and a connection method. For on-demand connections through a modem or ISDN terminal adapter ("ISDN modem"), the dialing computer may be able to perform routing functions for your network.

Panix recommends using a stand-alone router, especially for ISDN network connections. If you like, Panix may be able to offer pre-configured ISDN routers ready for installation at your site.

Primary Domain Name Service (DNS)

Domain names require a primary domain name server (DNS) to be functional. Panix will provide primary DNS for one domain name at no extra charge. If you have more domain names and don't want to run your own nameserver, Panix can handle your other DNS needs as well.

If you need IP addresses beyond the 16 free ones that come with your On-Demand ISDN service, Panix can provide them:

Upgrade to 32 IP addresses:	$25 per month
Upgrade to 256 IP addresses:	$50 per month

Please note that most customers should not need additional IPs, even though they may have many more than 16 machines on their network. NAT configuration (free with every Panix-provided router) eliminates the need for many IP addresses.

Individual Mailboxes

For your users to receive email from the Internet directly, your network must contain an SMTP-based mail server.

If you'd rather not run your own mail server, or your users don't need immediate notification of new mail, we can provide them with individual mailboxes on Panix. Mail can be retrieved from these mailboxes using any standard Internet email program (Netscape Mail, Outlook, Eudora, etc.).

A separate mailbox is required for each person using this method.
