I can’t stand to watch him, and all that is left for him is pathetic alibis.

Just When You Think that Bush and His Evil Minions™ Can’t Get Any More Petty…..
Remember that Obama wanted to start living in Blair House on January 1, as opposed to January 15, because his two children needed to start school?
Remember how the Bushies said that they couldn’t because it was already booked.
It turns out that it was a lie. There was no one booked to stay there, and they hurriedly invited John Howard, Australia’s former Prime Minister for one night so that Bush could bestow upon him that final mark of shame, a Medal of Freedom.
Note that Blair house has 119 rooms and 35 bathrooms, so they might never have even seen each other.
They really are a group of very small people.
Busted
The ACLU just got an FBI email through an FOIA request where the agent in question specifically states that Bush issued an executive order to torture Iraqi detainees.

Maliki to Bush: Drop Dead
Nouri al-Maliki is now saying that he will not allow Iraq to be used as a base to threaten their neighbors:
Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki told Iran’s Arabic news channel on Friday that Iraq “will not let Iraq be a launching ground to threaten any country,” Al-Alam said on its website.
Just in case you are wondering, why yes, we have spent hundreds of billions of dollars and thousands of lives to put Iran’s bitch in control of Iraq.
OK, We Have Entered Bizarro World
So, Bush sneaks into Baghdad for another round of grandstanding, and he holds a press conference, and things go pear shaped:
A man identified as an Iraqi journalist threw shoes at — but missed — President Bush during a news conference Sunday evening in Baghdad, where Bush was making a farewell visit.
President Bush, left, ducks a thrown shoe as Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki tries to protect him Sunday.Bush ducked, and the shoes, flung one at a time, sailed past his head during the news conference with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki in his palace in the heavily fortified Green Zone.
The shoe-thrower — identified as Muntadhar al-Zaidi, an Iraqi journalist with Egypt-based al-Baghdadia television network — could be heard yelling in Arabic: “This is a farewell … you dog!”
While pinned on the ground by security personnel, he screamed: “You killed the Iraqis!”
Roll tape:
Even Now, Putting Politics Ahead of Country
So, Bush is wondering if the Big 3 (Big 2½) are a prudent taxpayer investment:
President Bush on Friday said he is worried about giving taxpayer money to car companies that “may not survive.”
After giving, what, 5 times that amount to an just one insurance insurance company, and engineering something on the order of 200 times that amount for wall street in exchange for stock that has already lost a third of its value.
Big finance is a political ally, so they must be saved.
The UAW is the enemy, and so must be crushed, even if it means that there will be a 6 month period where no cars at all are assembled in the US, by either surviving members of the Big 3 (Big 2½) or by the transplants like Toyota, Honda, etc. because of suppliers going into bankruptcy like dominoes.
Additionally, you would start seeing shortages on spare parts for the cars, adversely effecting the auto repair business.
Seriously, when you see this level of disregard of the basic well being of the country because of political expediency, there is only one thing to day, “The Hague, bitches.”
Now We See the Real Shrub
So the elections are over, and now, unencumbered by future elections and even the remotest possibility of a political future, we see the real George W. Bush, and he makes the George W. Bush of the past 7 years look like Al Gore.
I first came across this when I found out that he had issued an executive order stripping 5000 employees of the BATF, some of whom are already represented by a union, of their collective bargaining rights.
Think Progress has a list of what he’s pushing through now, titled Bush’s Backward Sprint To The Finish, and it’s grim: (quoting directly)
- HEALTH CARE
- – Cutting medicaid
- – Allowing healthcare workers to refuse “morally objectionable” procedures [meaning allowing anyone to refuse birth control and abortion at any time]
- – Revising rules for international drug trials [more dead foreign babies]
- – Narrowing the definition of combat related disability [meaning that if you get injured when your vehicle crashes because the vehicle in front of you gets blown up, it’s no longer “combat related]
- – Allowing states to set premiums and higher co-payments
- ENVIRONMENT
- – Allowing mining near the Grand Canyon
- – Discounting global warming when assessing species risks
- – Weakening the Endangered Species Act
- – Eliminating review of fishing regulations
- – Allowing more emissions from power plants
- – Opening protected land to energy development
- – Allowing factory farms to self-regulate waste
- – Altering solid waste definition
- – Allowing snowmobiles in Yellowstone
- – Allowing coal companies to dump dirt and rock into streams
- CIVIL LIBERTIES
- – Allowing guns in national parks
- – Allowing broader law-enforcement monitoring
- – Implementing the REAL ID Act
- LABOR
- – Making it harder to take time off
- – Allowing truckers to work 14 hour days [More dead on the US interstates]
- – Requiring labor unions to file extensive financial reports
- – Making it harder to regulate toxic substances on the job
- – Stripping collective bargaining rights from federal employees
- – Relaxing rules on investment adviser conflicts of interest
- ADMINISTRATION
- – Moving political appointees to permanent posts
The complete list, with descriptions is at the link.
This is someone would not be satisfied until he destroys everything America really stands for.
Gail Collins is on some Very Strong Meds
gail Collins is suggesting that George W. Bush resign for the good of the country so that Barack Obama can start implementing his policies.
Ignoring the precedent, which is very bad, that it would set regarding presidents and serving out their their terms, the idea that Bush would resign, when he is already burrowing political appointees into the civil service and creating regulations in order to knee cap him is delusional.
George W. Bush is all about George W. Bush, and he believes that he is on a mission from God (which will hopefully take him to The Hague at some time), and the rejection of ego inherent in such an action, because it is an acknowledgment of his failure on a spectacularly grand scale.
It won’t happen.
Bush at G20: No One Makes Any Friendly Contact
He’s the 5th grade bully who did not grow an inch over the Summer, and has entered 6th grade, and is no longer big enough to enjoy fear.
Everyone else is shaking hands, but they keep their hands away from him.
I Can’t Wait for Bush and His Evil Minions&trade to Go
And I really hope that Obama uses the screw up on the time frame for the rules that Bush is issuing to reverse them.
Latest case in point:
The proposed rule would prohibit recipients of federal money from discriminating against doctors, nurses and other health care workers who refuse to perform or to assist in the performance of abortions or sterilization procedures because of their “religious beliefs or moral convictions.”
It should be interesting.
If he doesn’t reverse this one in the first week he’s sworn in……
George W. Bush Can Kiss My Shiny Metal Ass
Well, it now appears that the lamest lame duck since Nixon announced his resignation 18 hours hence is now warning about the dangers of over regulation of a free market economy.
It appears that he is concerned that the G-20 meeting will result in calls for additional regulation to keep the Harvard Business School types from raping the general public.
So, George W. Bush, a man who was born on 3rd base, and thought that he had hit a home run,* can kiss my shiny metal ass.
*Yes, I know that I am mixing my metaphors. So sue me.
I Can’t Believe Obama is Already Sitting Down With an Unpopular, Aggressive World Leader Without Preconditions.
Not Content With Being a Lame Duck
Bush is determined to push through rule changes to allow dishonest companies to kill and injure ordinary citizens:
Bush administration officials, in their last weeks in office, are pushing to rewrite a wide array of federal rules with changes or additions that could block product-safety lawsuits by consumers and states.
The administration has written language aimed at pre-empting product-liability litigation into 50 rules governing everything from motorcycle brakes to pain medicine. The latest changes cap a multiyear effort that could be one of the administration’s lasting legacies, depending in part on how the underlying principle of pre-emption fares in a case the Supreme Court will hear next month.
Because they know, just like investment banks, nothing untoward will be done by companies, because the holy market place would punish them for maiming children.
Only to go.
Number 3 On the List of Things Unlikely to Work
George W. Bush is planning to give a speech tomorrow to reassure the nation….Yeah, like that’s going to work.
As if We Didn’t Know that Bush and His Evil Minions™ Were Corrupt Bastards
Stephen Payne, a lobbyist with close ties to the GOP, is selling access to Bush, Cheney, and Rice for contributions to the Bush Presidential Library.
He sits on Bush’s Homeland Security Advisory Council.
Video at link of him soliciting bribes.
Bush Hits New Low
He is less popular than the Clap.
Then again, he’s killed a lot more people in the past 7 years than the Clap has too.
Bush is Batsh$@ Insane
In an otherwise unremittingly negative review of retired general Ricardo Sanchez’s book detailing his experiences in (mis)managing the Iraq war, Washington Post columnist William Arkin of, we find this rather remarkable quote from the general’s book: “
Today in the San Antonio Express-News, Sanchez blames everyone else for what happened during his 14 months in Iraq and says he experienced ‘confused’ pep talks from President Bush. ‘Kick ass!’ Bush is said to have said in the video-teleconference during the battle of Fallujah in 2004. ‘If somebody tries to stop the march to democracy, we will seek them out and kill them! We must be tougher than hell!’
(emphasis mine)
While I agree that Sanchez’s tenure in Iraq deserves nothing but disdain, he, along with Paul Bremer are the two people most responsible for US missteps, I think that he misses the importance of this quote.
The importance is not that Sanchez blames someone else. It’s that what George W. Bush said is are indicators clearly, and deeply, disturbed mind. I’m not talking Pat Buchanan crazy here. I’m talking really, literally insane.
GW Bush’s finger is on the button, and I think that we are seeing someone who is suffering from some severe psychosis, the sort that would normally require compulsory medication, and possibly detention, and Arkin misses it because he, with much justification, hates Sanchez so much.
Worst President Ever
GW Bush’s popularity is now has a 28% approve and 69% disapprove ratings, the worst ever.
The previous low was held by Harry Truman in Jan 1952 of 67% disapproval, and no doubt the 28% dead-enders will make comparisons, but the Avignon president is no Harry Truman.
66% of Republicans still approve of his job, once again showing C=MI*, though if they are true to form, they will all pretend to have hated him for most of his term within 18 months of his leaving office.
The pathological need to support the person in charge is a disturbing part of the human makeup.

Gotta start the popcorn.
Bush Is Delusional, Iran Edition
Dan Froomkin notes that Bush just stated that the Iranian government, “declared they want to have a nuclear weapon to destroy people.”
You know, when no such thing was said, and quite honestly it never would be said, because even by that clown Achmedinijad.
I hope that he’s lying, because if he believes it, then we have an insane man in the White House, and a congress unwilling to remove him.
