Bush Knew that There Were No WMDs Before Invasion
Sidney Blumenthal saysthat Bush was explicitly briefed on this fact.
On Sept. 18, 2002, CIA director George Tenet briefed President Bush in the Oval Office on top-secret intelligence that Saddam Hussein did not have weapons of mass destruction, according to two former senior CIA officers. Bush dismissed as worthless this information from the Iraqi foreign minister, a member of Saddam’s inner circle, although it turned out to be accurate in every detail. Tenet never brought it up again.
He wanted his war out of some Oedipal conflict with his dad, and now, to further compensate for his feeling of masculine inadequacy, he is planning to use nuclear weapons on Iran.
He must be stopped, and to paraphrase Olbermann, Democrats in Congress and those few Republicans who actually give a damn about America need to do it today, and set about removing Bush and Cheney from office and turning them over to the Hague for prosecution.

- The only time a plane has nukes on it is when it’s on alert, or it’s tasked to move it to a specific site.
- Barksdale AFB is a staging base for the Middle East.
- Someone on the inside obviously leaked the information, as mishaps with nukes are kept WELL under cover until well after they are resolved.
- Why would someone leak this if it were an honest accident?
Mr. Johnson is far more circumspect that I am. The Bush admin not only has plans for a nuclear strike on Iran, it is their preferred tactic.

Well, it appears that contrary to his statements, Bush specifically endorsed dismantling the Iraqi army.
One wonders if the Washington press corps will be upset about this as they were about a blowjob.

The question is who is he paying off with this? Is it poll driven or contributor driven?
Dean Baker has some good analysis.
Basically, his plan is to allow poor people to get even further over their heads by waiving the 3% FHA equity requirement, and to forgive the taxes on the forgiven debts that are foreclosure, which benefits the richest families (higher tax bracket) more than the poor ones.
There is also the inevitable jawboning about going after bad players in the market.
Bush and His Evil Minions™ have a good record on going after evil doers. Where’s Osama bin Laden again?

It’s one way to get the opinion of the general public.
At the 7-11 where I filled up, the clerk said, “Nice Shirt”.
Once I got to DC, someone walked up to me, and asked, “Don’t like him, huh?”, and I replied “Yes.”, and we both grinned.
I had one person give me a thumbs up, and on my way back to the Metro, a guy in a shirt and tie, smiled at me and said, “Liar”.
We hit Barnes and Noble on the way home, and the clerk said that he liked my shirt.

His response? Gonzales recently proposed tightening the leash on the men and women who prosecute federal crimes across the nation.”
Gonzales described what he delicately calls “a more vigorous and a little bit more formal process” for annually evaluating prosecutors. What that means, as he explained it, is hauling in every U.S. attorney for a meeting to hear, among other things, politicians’ beefs against the prosecutor.
If that should happen, expect the fair-mindedness and independence Americans still count on from their Justice Department to slip.
In testimony to Congress and comments at the National Press Club, Gonzales framed the meetings as a way of improving communications. But it also looks a lot like a way to remind recalcitrant U.S. attorneys what the home team expects.
On Friday, a spokesman for Gonzales insisted in a written statement that the attorney general has no intention of holding one-on-ones with every U.S. attorney.
“The view of the overwhelming majority of U.S. attorneys is that they do not want a new, formalized review process — including one that might involve annual one-on-one meetings between each U.S. attorney and the Attorney General or the Deputy Attorney General. We have listened and agree with these views,” the spokesman said.

Sadly, there’s no photo at present to back up the sale, but the vendor does give a very good reason:
I bought this watch from an Albanian friend, he claims to have “borrowed” it from George Bush.
