H/t Buzzfeed for the pics

Look at his eyes. He is not a happy camper.

But I doubt it.

In any case, representatives of OWS have “Mic Checked”* Barack Obama:

President Obama was heckled on Tuesday during an appearance at a New Hampshire high school.

Obama had traveled north to the Granite State, which holds the nation’s first presidential primary, to discuss the economy and his proposal to extend a current payroll tax cut.

Just as the president started his speech, protesters, apparently from the Occupy Wall Street protest movement, used the “human mic” technique to amplify their voices. It was unclear what the protesters were saying, or what point they were attempting to make.

The president smiled through the disruption, saying: “No, it’s OK,” as other parts of the crowd sought to hush the protesters by chanting his name and old campaign slogan, “Yes We Can.”

In Chicago, another group mic checked Rahm Emmanuel too.

I don’t expect either of them to sympathize with OWS’ goals, ever.

They are both products of the wing of the Democratic party that is beholden to big money, and the FIRE (Finance, Insurance, Real Estate) sector’s money in particular, so to the degree that we see any movement towards accountability and meaningful regulations for the banksters, it will be because they are dragged kicking and screaming toward doing the right thing.

Well, I Never Expected to See This in a Trader Joe’s Parking Lot

The fact that it is basically a Lotus chassis shows

Yep, it’s a Tesla Roadster.

I guess that people with more bucks than brains.

I just could not bring myself to take a $107,000.00 (!) sports car to the grocery store.

I’m just not a car guy, I guess.

Don’t Tell Me I Never Gave You Anything

Here are my pictures from New York. (Click for big honking images)

Most notable was a Broadway disaster so bad that Dick Cheney should be the producer:

And here are the offices of the Gray Lady:

I remember Times Square before it became a Disneyfied version of Blade Runner:

Maybe it’s the Eastern European Jewish heritage, Cossacks and all, but I really hate mounted police:

Vengeance Is Mine, Sayeth the Dad

So, we want to a Bar Mitzvah today, and we told Charlie that since he was only 12, he needed to wear a suit jacket and a tie.

He was OK on the tie, but refused to wear a suit jacket.

We are talking yelling, and screaming, and passive aggressive resistance.

Eventually, we got him into the car, and put the jacket in the back, and when when we got there, it was held at the old Washington Post building, we got him to take the jacket in, but not to wear it.

Toward the end of the evening, I asked Charlie if he could put on the jacket for 15 seconds, so that I could snap a picture of it.

He put on the jacket, and I reminded him that he was turning 12 next month, and that  his Bar Mitzvah would be a year from that.

I then informed him that a suit jacket with tie was non-negotiable for his Bar Mitzvah, and as it sunk in, I snapped this picture.

Not a happy young man, huh?

Not a Big Fan of Apple Products…

But I have to give props to some of the people who makes cases for the iPhone.
Here we have:

Among others.

It’s amusing, but the iPhone is still an over-priced, over-restricted product of a control freak who wants to tell its user community just how they are supposed to use their own phones.

Because of the uniformity of the product, Android phones come in all shapes and sizes, it’s something that you will find the variety of accessories of this type in a phone ecosystem that is freer.

Baltimore is a strange place

So, I was driving home from shopping with my family, and come up on a motorcyclist who has a decidedly atypical companion on the back of the bike:  a skeleton, complete with wig and helmet.

I asked Sharon to snap some pictures of this, and here they are.

As you can see, he saw our interest, and my wife snapping pictures, and posed a bit for us.

It added a bit of the surreal to this day.

*I cannot claim credit for this bon mot. It was coined by my daughter, Natalie.
Love of my life, light of the cosmos, she who must be obeyed, my wife.

The original

Der Tzitung

De Voch

Not one but two Heredim (black hat ultra Orthodox) publications, Der Tzitung and De Voch photoshopped Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and and White House aide Audrey Tomason out of the iconic picture of staff watching the progress of the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound.

It appears that they consider even a photograph of a woman to be too sexually salacious.

It just proves that medieval hyper-religious nut-jobs are not limited to al Qaeda, or the talibaptist whack jobs, but includes fellow Jews.

As my brother is wont to say, “Schwer zu Sein a Yid.”  (It ain’t easy being a Jew.)
