I Can’t Wait for Bush and His Evil Minions&trade to Go

And I really hope that Obama uses the screw up on the time frame for the rules that Bush is issuing to reverse them.

Latest case in point:

The proposed rule would prohibit recipients of federal money from discriminating against doctors, nurses and other health care workers who refuse to perform or to assist in the performance of abortions or sterilization procedures because of their “religious beliefs or moral convictions.”

It should be interesting.

If he doesn’t reverse this one in the first week he’s sworn in……

In a just world, people would leave when he walked into the room, because anyone who would say this:

A roomful of academics erupted in angry boos Tuesday morning after political analyst Michael Barone said journalists trashed Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republicans’ vice presidential nominee, because “she did not abort her Down syndrome baby.”

Is not a functioning member of humanity.

He later claimed that it was a joke, which makes it worse, because if he actually believes that, he is sick, and if it’s a joke, he’s just evil.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, see my earlier post, All Your Uterus Are Belong to Us, Bush and His Evil Minions&trade are determined to make sure that Abortion will be unavailable, even if it is legal.

So, they are pushing ahead with a modified plan now, and they have changed the definition, so that contraception is no longer abortion, but it still allow a doctor to refuse to give birth control information to a woman, for example.

These folks are more like the Mullahs in Iran than they admit.

It Ain’t the McCain Clown Show Yet, But It’s Getting There

John McCain just freaked out conservatives by saying that Tom Ridge’s support for abortion rights would not rule him out as a VP pick.

This means that Lieberman might be on the short list too, as he is (barely) pro-choice, and I think that most of the freaking out is about the possibility of Joementum on the ticket. It’s not abortion, it’s pulling the lever for a Yid that gets to them.

In unrelated, except that it’s bad, news, Andrew McCain, John’s son sat on the audit committee of Silver State Bancorp until January of this year, bailing just before they posted enormous losses:

As of June 30, the bank said 14% of its $1.96 billion in total assets were nonperforming, up from 0.75% six months earlier. A year ago, its shares were trading for more than $18 on the Nasdaq Stock Market. They closed Thursday at 83 cents in Nasdaq 4 p.m. trading. The loss restatement was released after the market close.

And little Andy was on the audit committee, and bailed out before they started to tank.

Kansas Anti-Abortion Wingnut Crushed in Primary

Phill Kline, former Kansas Attorney General, and now District Attorney in Johnson County, just got crushed in his bid for reelection.

It appears that his efforts to file criminal complaints against Planned Parenthood, and to subpoena all their patient records have convinced Kansas voters that they want nothing to do with this butt wipe.

He hasn’t won an election since went postal on Planned Parenthood and he was defeated as Kansas AG. He was appointed as Johnson County DA, because that was the guy who won the race for AG.

Put a fork in him, Phill Kline is done.

All Your Uterus Are Belong to Us

It appears that with only 6 months to go, Bush and His Evil Minions™ are doing their level best to make birth control unavailable a significannt portion of the US population.

First, they have now defined abortion as “anything that results in the termination of the life of a human being in utero between conception and natural birth, whether before or after implantation.”

This would be many birth control pills, emergency contraception following a rape, and the IUD, in addition to a number of medications not normally used for contraception, but for which are likely to cause a failure to implant, or a spontaneous abortion.

What’s more, any medical provider receiving money for a Health and Human Services Department program would have to, “sign written certifications”, certifying that the would not, “will not refuse to hire nurses and other providers who object to abortion and even certain types of birth control.” (see also here)

What’s amazing is that Mr. “I don’t listen to polls” HHS is using a poll, as opposed to the American Medical Association’s definition of “abortion”.

If you think that you can compromise with abortion-criminalization terrorists, you are wrong.

Their ultimate goal is to make all forms of birth control illegal in the United States of America.

Crap. John McCain is Telling the Truth

OK, now we have Obama “Puzzled” by blip flop charges, because he has completely reversed himself on FISA, and now he’s saying that in order for “mental distress” to be used to justify a late term abortion, it must be a formal psychiatric disorder out of the DSM IV.*

So, he’s selling the constitution out privacy, he’s reversed himself on free trade agreements, and now he is suggesting a heightened standard for late term abortion (while using the right wing’s language of “Partial Birth Abortion”).

John McCain can call him a flip flopper on the issues because Barack Obama is a flip flopper on the issues.

His only saving grace is the John Sidney McCain is a bigger flip flopper.

I guess that we’ll get the president we deserve.

Johnson County District Attorney Phill Kline, who was defeated as Kansas AG because of his jihad against planned parenthood, has failed to get a grand jury to indict the clinic in Overland Park, KS.

This guy is like 0 for 12 now, with hundreds of thousands if not millions of taxpayer dollars down the hole.

Perhaps its time for the voters to remove him from public life.

*Yes, it’s immature. And you are surprised by this?

More on Fascist Catholic Archbishop in St. Louis

Saint Louis University’s basketball couch Rick Majerus tells fascist Archbishop to piss off regarding said cleric’s suggestion that disciplinary action be taken against him because he showed up to a Hillary Clinton rally, and made pro-choice statements.

Ignoring the towering idiocy of demanding that a basketball coach towing anti-woman, anti sex line of Archbishop Raymond Burke, there is also the matter, rasied in my last post on this issue, that St. Louis University just won a court case regarding a tax financing for a new sports arena because they had demonstrated they were not, “controlled by a religious creed”.

This is not the first time that this moron has damaged both the reputation and the institution of the Catholic Church:

Burke has spoken out before against Catholics or Catholic institutions that stray from church doctrine. During the 2004 election, he said he would not administer Holy Communion to presidential candidate John Kerry, a Catholic, because he supported abortion rights.

Last year, Burke dropped his seat on the board of a charity that let singer Sheryl Crow perform at a benefit concert. Crow supports abortion rights and embryonic stem cell research.

On Tuesday, Burke said he would ask Saint Louis University officials to take “appropriate action” against Majerus after the coach gave a TV interview at the Clinton rally during which he said he was Catholic and pro-choice.

In 1942, the Bishop of Father Coughlin to STFU. Perhaps it might be advisable for someone in Burke’s chain of command to do the same.

As a political issue, it’s always been a proxy for the SCOTUS decision to allow the IRS to strip tax exempt status from segregated institutions, but it bears note.

My take, not one step back on the terrorists whose goal is to criminalize a woman’s right to choose.

What’s more, we should go PATRIOT act on the asses of organizations that provide material aid to doctor murderers and clinic bombers.

Obama and Abortion: Profile in Cowardice

It turns out that when Barack Obama had the opportunity to take a stand on abortion rights, in the state senate, when called to make a vote on the proposed ban on the DNX procedure, he voted “present”. (see here,
here, and here)

During Senator Obama’s 2004 senate campaign, the Illinois NOW PAC did not recommend the endorsement of Obama for U.S. Senate because he refused to stand up for a woman’s right to choose and repeatedly voted `present’ on important legislation.

As a State Senator, Barack Obama voted `present’ on seven abortion bills, including a ban on ‘partial birth abortion,’ two parental notification laws and three ‘born alive’ bills. In each case, the right vote was clear, but Senator Obama chose political cover over standing and fighting for his convictions.

“When we needed someone to take a stand, Senator Obama took a pass,” said Grabenhofer. “He wasn’t there for us then and we don’t expect him to be now.”

At the time, Obama represented what was arguably the most liberal senate district in Illinois, so there was no need for him to duck and cover, but duck and cover, he did.

Of course, he did it on the Petraeus/Moveon vote too, he showed up for Barbara Boxer’s amendment, but was not in the hall later that afternoon for the Moveon condemnation.

He’s very well spoken. He’s telegenic.

But it appears that when the going gets tough, and let’s be clear in his Hyde Park senate district, being unapologetically pro choice is actually pretty damn safe, he is AWOL.

His dog whistle gay bashing behavior with his gospel tour appears to be a part of a pattern.

No guts, and the moreI hear him going on using Republican talking points like “hostility to religion” and :social security crisis”, the more he sounds like Joe Lieberman with a better tan.

As to the Presidential race…He’s still ahead of Mike Gravel in my mind, but if push comes to shove, I vote Hillary instead of him*.
