Taken at George W. Bush airport.
No merch with the logo at the store, it’s just an ordinary airport news stand.

So I drove to the airport to see what could be arranged at the ticket counter.
There are no seats avilable, so we will be playing the wait list tango at BWI starting very early in the morning.
Keep your fingers crossed for me.
Thank you Mr. Anthropogenic Climate Change.
With a bit of luck, we will make it by Friday some time.
I keep expecting Chevy Chase to appear, because it does seem like one of his Vacation movies.
The death of Pete Seeger has me thinking of Woody Guthrie:
See the label on his guitar saying, “This machine kills fascists?”
Folk songs are about not some sort of generic emotional warm fuzzies.
They are about life, and they are about deep moral outrage.
H/t TPM for the picture (c. 1943).
Stephen Trimble points us to a journalist covering demonstrations in Kiev.
Trimble believes that this is an impromptu helmet.
I think not.
You have no padding and thin gauge metal, so protection is minimal.
Instead, I think that this intrepid reporter is invoking the protection of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, may we all bask in his noodly goodness.
If you do a Google maps of 2237 Pennsylvania Ave, Charleston, WV 25302, and then you do a Street View, you will see that it is right across from Freedumb Industries, the company that tainted water for 300,000 people in West Virginia.
If you do a street view, you will notice that there is a billboard which says, “The President talks about creating jobs, but his EPA is destroying jobs.”
Irony, you are soaking in it!

We were driving to an SCA event in DC, and I drove by a school bus, and saw this.
I pointed it put to Natalie, who then snapped these pix.
[on update]
There were issues with the photographs, etc. because of the mobile posting app.
So I have updated this to include:
BTW, in case you missed it, the bus is from Starfleet Transportation.
*Obviously, I am limiting my set “School Bus” to those vehicles that are actually colored school bus colors.

This guy turned 70 on Wednesday.
Considering the level of abuse that he has voluntarily inflicted on himself, he should have been found dead in his swimming pool about 40 years ago.
Somewhere in his genes is the making of an absolutely indestructible superhero, as well as a kick ass rhythm guitarist.
You can hover over the image with your cursor to get the answer if you do not recognize the guy.

Seen on Facebook.

As a FYI, I have worked on autonomous vehicles, and I think that using aerial vehicles is unlikely, but juxtaposing this with Google’s self driving cars might be possible.
This is an epic troll. I wish that it was my idea:

And seeing a how, based on two decades of observations about how Sharon* is affected by weddings, my guess its that I will more make our to my trusty laptop tonight.
So have some pictures of our kitten, Destructo, age 8 months, I a picnic basket.
Why he went in, I have no idea, but he did NOT want to leave.

OK, this one I get, if I had to wear that, I’d join a monastery in Tibet
OK, so I am looking up a Guardian essay, and there’s a link to a London fashion show, and I pop it open in a new tab, because the picture above the link shows a very skinny woman looking unbelievably miserable, and because, well, the internet.
I peruse the pictures, and they all look like their favorite grandfather just died.
Is there some sort of rule that fashion models have to be miserable?
Because, to me, at least, miserable women are not attractive, and neither are their clothes. (To be fair, there is some sh%$ on the runway that the Goddess Aphrodite could not save).
The cutest commuters in the New York subway system shut down the Q and B lines for 2 hours:
A major crisis was averted in the subway Thursday on the fe-line.
Two skittish kittens, who have been named Arthur and August, were rescued by a pair of cops and an MTA worker in Brooklyn after their precarious presence near the third rail shut down service for about two hours and shook up the city’s usually stoic straphangers.
Transit workers spotted the furry duo along an open-air stretch of the B and Q lines near Church Ave. at 11 a.m., prompting officials to cut power to the tracks. A transit supervisor “tried to corral them,” but the felines were too fast, said a Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokeswoman.
The kittehs were rescued, and named Arthur and August.

Remember when I asked for help naming our new kitten?
Well, it turns out that I did not need to.
Yesterday, I discovered his name.
We were packing to go to an SCA (medieval recreation) event, and the kitten was sitting on our comfy chair.
My daughter Natalie put down a quiver of arrows on the chair, and the kitten promptly began chew on the leather case.
I scowled at the cat, and barked the following instruction to my Daughter:
Natalie, get the arrows away from DESTRUCTO!
There was a brief stunned paused from the assembled family, and then we all looked at each other, and we realized that we had named the cat.
There was much rejoicing.
